Today for many of us we have opted when buying a new TV to choose to go for one of the LCD, HD or Plasma flat screen models. These sleek instruments look so much more pleasing to the eye as they take up considerably less space than the much bulker types we use to have. If you do choose to mount your flat screen TV on a wall then you need to remember that you get the right sort of mounting brackets for yours. Just because your TV is considerably slimmer than the previous model they can still weight quite a bit. If you don’t get the right flat screen wall mounts then it won’t be securely fixed to the wall and eventually the whole thing including the TV can come away from the wall.

1. Fixed Flat Screen Wall Mount – These are the easiest of all the mounting brackets that one can install for placing a flat screen TV on a wall. However the angle of the screen once mounted on this bracket cannot be adjusted so you must ensure you put it at a height that is at a level with your eyes that you find comfortable. If you don’t then you may find yourself suffering from neck, shoulder and back problems in the future. As well as being the easiest type of mounting bracket to install because of its simplicity it is also the cheapest to purchase.
2. Tilting Flat Screen Wall Mount – Although not as easy to install as the first type of flat screen wall mounts discussed in this article it is a lot easier to install than the final type. However, you will soon discover the cost of these types is slightly higher than the fixed model kinds. But it comes with the added benefit of allowing you to vertically adjust the screen so provides you with more flexibility of where it can be viewed within a room. So you don’t need to be sat in a chair only to enjoy the program or film you are watching. You can tilt the screen and watch it whilst laid on the floor if you wish, certainly children may find this type of viewing more enjoyable.
3. Articulated Flat Screen Mount – This one is the most difficult to install and is also the most expensive. So it may be advisable to use the services of a professional to have these particular kinds of flat screen wall mounts installed. But as you will soon discover there are a number of advantages that these types come with compared to the other two mentioned in this article. With this particular kind of wall mounting for flat screen TV’s you are able to adjust the viewing position of the screen both vertically and horizontally as it allows you to move it away from the wall if you need to. Yet they still don’t seem to intrude in to the room as they can then be pushed back against the wall once viewing has finished as with the fixed style.
